Creating a batch takes three fields.
- In the top navigation, open Production and click Create Batch.
- Pick your Product.
- Set the start date. For fermented products the field is Fermentation start. For everything else it is labeled Production Date.
- Add any notes about things that happened outside your normal process. This is optional.
- Click Create Batch.

FourFoxes fills in the rest:
- The batch number is assigned automatically. Numbering restarts each year for each product.
- The earliest package date is computed from the minimum duration on the product's product type.
For products that do not ferment, the batch page then asks "Was this batch packaged today?" so you can close the loop in one tap.
No products yet?
The product dropdown only shows products you have created. Add one first under Settings, then Products. A product needs a name, a product type, and, if you want checks on the packaging screen, its food safety checks (CCPs).
