Choose simple or advanced inventory

Your account's inventory mode decides how packaging is recorded. Admins switch it on the Account Team page, and the change only affects future work.

Every account runs in one of two packaging workflows. New accounts start in simple mode.

Simple mode. Packaging is one form. You open a batch, click Package Batch, and record the packaging date, batch code, pH, and yield. This fits teams that track batches and food safety but not container-level inventory.

Advanced mode. Packaging is recorded as packaging runs. For each run you pick a package type (for example a 5 oz bottle) and enter how many you filled. Once the batch's packaging details are recorded, FourFoxes deducts packaging materials from inventory and creates packaged inventory lots you can move through post-packaging stages and ship.

To switch modes:

  1. Open Account Team from the account menu. You need the admin or owner role.
  2. Find the Packaging workflow card.
  3. Pick Simple or Advanced and click Save.

The change applies to future actions only. Nothing already recorded is rewritten, and you can switch back to simple at any time.

Advanced mode requires the Professional plan or higher. Trial accounts can use it.

Wrong-mode pages redirect

If someone opens the simple packaging form while the account is in advanced mode, FourFoxes redirects them to the packaging runs page (and the other way around). No data is lost.
