Pause your account for the off-season

Admins and owners on a paid plan can pause billing for up to 120 days a rolling year. Pick a resume date; the pause starts when your billing period ends, and records stay readable and exportable but locked.

If you make product seasonally, you can pause your FourFoxes subscription for the off-season instead of canceling it. You pick a resume date, the pause starts when your current billing period ends, and you are not charged again until you resume. You can pause for up to 120 days in any rolling year. While paused, everyone on the account can still see and export every record, but nothing can be added or changed.

Who can pause

You need the Admin or Owner role, on a paid subscription that is active. Pausing is not available on the Free plan or during your free trial, because there is no billing period to pause. If a renewal payment has failed, settle it first. The Pause subscription button does not appear while a payment is outstanding.

Schedule a pause

  1. Open your account menu, then Account Settings, then Billing & Subscription.
  2. Click Pause subscription. The page shows the date your pause begins, which is the end of your current billing period, and how many of your 120 pause days remain.
  3. Pick a Resume date and click Review pause.
  4. Check the summary. It shows when the pause begins, when your next charge moves to, and how many of your remaining days this pause uses. Click Schedule pause, or Go back to pick another date.

The pause runs through the end of your resume date. The shortest pause is 2 days. If the pause is longer than the days you have left, FourFoxes tells you how many days it needs and how many remain, and asks for an earlier date. You can have one pause scheduled or running at a time.

Until the pause begins, nothing changes: your account works normally to the end of the period you already paid for.

Cancel a scheduled pause

Before the pause begins, the Billing page shows a Pause scheduled card with the dates it begins and resumes. Click Cancel scheduled pause to keep billing as normal. A canceled pause uses none of your 120 days. Once the pause has begun, use Resume now instead.

While your account is paused

A banner at the top of every page reads Your subscription is paused until your resume date, and says records are read-only. You and your team can still:

  • Sign in and open every page and record.
  • Download your HACCP and CCP reports, the pH testing log, calibration exports, recall trace exports, batch CSV exports, and label files.
  • Use your account menu pages, including Billing. Admins and owners can still export the whole account's data.
  • Read and dismiss notifications in the bell.

Anything that creates or changes a record, such as logging a batch or a CCP check, shows Your account is paused instead. Members and Production Team users see who to ask to resume.

Resume early

  1. Click Resume now in the paused banner, or on the Billing page.
  2. On Resume subscription now, click Resume now. Click Stay paused to back out.

You are charged your regular plan price today and a new billing period starts now. Your account unlocks as soon as our billing provider confirms the payment. Only the days you were actually paused count against your 120, so the unused days come back to you.

How the 120 days add up

FourFoxes counts the days you were actually paused in the last 365 days. Days come back as old pauses age out of that window. If you have 1 or 0 days left, the page says so and does not offer a date. On your resume date the pause ends by itself, you are charged your regular price, and a new billing period starts that day.
