When a scheduled CCP check comes due and nobody logs it, the Today dashboard marks it missed. Tap the missed check. If the check was done but not logged, record it late with the real time. If it was not done, type why in Why was this check missed? and click Acknowledge miss. The acknowledgment is a permanent record that shows on Today and in your HACCP logs.
Record it late, or acknowledge it
A missed check is a flag, not a lock. Pick the option that matches what happened on the floor:
- The check was done, just not logged. Record it late. The reading is what an inspector wants to see.
- The check was not done. Acknowledge the miss, with the reason in your own words. This is your documented corrective-action note for the gap.
Acknowledge a missed check
- Open Today. Missed checks pin to the top under Needs attention, and also show in their own section: Batches, Facility checks, or a section for an earlier shift such as Left open from yesterday.
- Tap the missed check. Its logging form opens with the CCP, and the batch if there is one, already picked. A red This check was missed box sits above the form.
- To record it late, skip the box. Fill in the form below it, set Date / Time Monitored to when the check was really done, and click Save Monitoring Record.
- To acknowledge it, type the reason in Why was this check missed? The reason is required.
- Click Acknowledge miss. You return to Today with the message Miss acknowledged.
The box only appears when you arrive from a missed check on Today. Opening the logging form from the Monitoring page shows the plain form.
If you leave the reason blank, nothing is saved and you see A reason is required to acknowledge a missed check. If a teammate logged or acknowledged the check while your page was open, FourFoxes tells you so instead of creating a second acknowledgment. A teammate's acknowledgment names who made it and when.
Where an acknowledged miss shows up
- Today. The check leaves Needs attention and the missed counter. It stays in its own section, muted, with a line that reads Acknowledged by, then the username, the time, and the reason. If someone records the check late afterward, the card shows as done instead. The weekly row still counts that day as not all clear, because a check was missed.
- HACCP Reports. Each CCP with acknowledged misses in the last 30 days carries a badge such as 2 acknowledged misses (30d), next to any deviation count.
- Master log and per-CCP log. The miss is its own row, filed under the time the check came due. The CCP Met? column reads Missed (acknowledged), and Corrective Actions holds the reason and who acknowledged it. The row is in the on-screen report, the CSV, and the PDF.
An acknowledgment cannot be edited or deleted, like a monitoring record. Write the reason as you would want an inspector to read it. If the check was actually done, record it late instead of acknowledging it.
Who can acknowledge
Every role can acknowledge a miss, Production Team included, the same as logging a check. Each acknowledgment names the person who made it. Any Member or higher can view HACCP Reports.
