Mark a bad batch

Open the batch, click Edit Batch, set Batch condition to Bad, and save. The batch stays in your records with its full history.

Every batch has a condition: Not evaluated, Good, or Bad. New batches start as Not evaluated. When you package a batch with a yield above zero and leave the condition as Not evaluated, FourFoxes sets it to Good.

  1. Open the batch and click Edit Batch. You can also click Edit on the batch's row in the Batches list.
  2. Set Batch condition to Bad.
  3. Click Save Changes.

What changes when a batch is marked Bad:

  • The Batches list shows a red Bad Batch badge on the row, and the batch appears under the Bad Batches preset.
  • The batch drops out of the Ready to Package, Ready in 7 Days, No Ready Date, and Overdue lists.
  • Its yield is set to 0, and it is no longer marked as actively fermenting.
  • Batch stats counts it in the Failed Batch Rate, the share of evaluated batches (good or bad) marked failed. Batches still Not evaluated are left out of that rate, so your failure rate per product stays honest.

Nothing else is touched. The batch keeps its notes, photos, CCP records, and linked ingredient purchases. You can still trace it in a recall. If you marked it Bad by mistake, set Batch condition back to Good or Not evaluated and save. The yield stays at 0 until you enter the real one.

Batches are never deleted

There is no way to delete a batch in FourFoxes. That is on purpose. A bad batch with a clear record is something you can show an inspector. A missing batch is not.
