Counts drift. FourFoxes gives you two tools to keep them honest, and both leave an audit trail.
Correct a count (after a cycle count or physical count)
- Open Inventory, then Inventory Adjustments, and click New Adjustment.
- Pick the item type: an ingredient lot or a packaging item.
- Pick the lot or item and enter the corrected quantity.
- Pick a reason (Cycle Count, Physical Count, Receiving Discrepancy, Damaged, Theft, Data Entry Error, Other) and click Save Adjustment.
The adjustments list keeps every correction with the previous quantity, the corrected quantity, the reason, and who recorded it.
Record waste or shrinkage
From a packaged lot's page, or the waste report, open Record Waste / Shrinkage. Pick the item (ingredient lot, packaging item, or finished good lot), enter the quantity wasted, and pick a reason (Expired, Damaged, Spillage, Quality Hold, Production Loss). The quantity comes off the item's remaining count, and the Waste Report totals events by category and reason over time.
[facsimile candidate: Record Waste / Shrinkage form]
Packaged lot corrections happen on the lot itself, or in bulk from the Packaged Inventory page: corrections, customer returns, and waste. A correction that moves a count by more than 25 percent asks you to confirm you reviewed the variance.
The Expiration Dashboard shows packaged lots by how soon they expire, and can mark all expired lots as wasted in one step. The FEFO Dashboard does the same watch work for ingredient lots.
When you correct a count, enter the total you actually counted. If the system says 100 and you counted 90, enter 90, not 10.
