Create a Nutrition Facts label

Enter your nutrient values in the label generator, watch the live preview, and save. Every label exports as SVG, PDF, and PNG.

The label generator builds FDA-format Nutrition Facts panels from values you type in, with a live preview as you go.

  1. Open Catalog and, under Nutrition labels, click Generate Label.
  2. Name the label (optional) and pick a Label format: Vertical or Horizontal.
  3. Enter the Serving size, Unit, and Servings per container.
  4. Type the nutrient values from your nutritional analysis or lab report: calories, fats, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrate, sugars, protein, and vitamins and minerals. Blank fields print as 0. An optional section covers nutrients like soluble fiber and sugar alcohols.
  5. The preview updates as you type. When it looks right, click Save Label.

The first time you save, FourFoxes asks you to acknowledge that nutrient values are the manufacturer's responsibility and that lab testing is the standard for FDA compliance. Click I understand, save my label to continue. The generator lays out the label; it does not verify your numbers.

Saved labels live under Saved Labels. From there you can download any label as SVG, PDF, or PNG, duplicate it as a starting point for a new one, edit it, or open its version history. Select several and click Export selected to get one ZIP, up to 200 labels at a time. Restoring an older version and deleting a label require the Admin role. Deleting cannot be undone.

Build a label from a recipe. Click New Recipe Label on Saved Labels, or Generate FDA label on a Bill of Materials page. The Recipe Calculator works out nutrition from your ingredients:

  • Search under Add Ingredient, or choose a Bill of Materials from Import from BOM… to bring in all of its ingredients and amounts, its yield, and its container.
  • Any ingredient marked No nutrition data needs Map nutrition before the numbers are right. The To finish this label list shows what is left.
  • Enter a Serving Size. Nothing is calculated without one. When a Container is set, Servings Per Container is worked out for you. If you type your own number, it shows Manual value: derivation paused; click Use calculated to go back.
  • Have lab results? Click Edit values to type lab-tested numbers over the calculated ones.
  • Click Save Recipe Label. It saves into the same Saved Labels list.

If the Bill of Materials changes after you save, the label shows BOM changed or Newer BOM version in the list. Open the label and click Refresh from BOM to see what will change and update it.

The label generator is available on every plan. Labels you save on the Free plan carry a watermark, and the label generator and recipe calculator show a line saying so, with a link to billing. Paid, trial and complimentary accounts save watermark-free labels. Labels saved before this change stay as they are; saving one again on the Free plan applies the watermark.

Generate Label uses only the numbers you type

The Generate Label page is manual entry only. It does not pull values from batches, products, or Bills of Materials. Enter the numbers from your lab report, or use New Recipe Label to calculate them from a recipe.
