Comparison

FourFoxes vs Caddy Both track your lots. They're built for different makers.

Two tools for small food producers who want their batch records covered. Here is what each one costs, what it does, and who it's built for.

01

The short answer

The short answer

Caddy is inventory and lot traceability software for single-facility small food manufacturers. It starts at $499 a month billed annually, and an implementation package is required. FourFoxes has a free plan, paid plans from $39 a month, and logs the temperature and pH checks you already do (your CCPs) on every plan. You can sign up for FourFoxes without talking to anyone. If you make a beverage, note that Caddy's own site says it isn't designed for beverage-first manufacturers.

02

Where Caddy fits

Caddy is built for owner-led food manufacturers with one facility who are moving off paper and spreadsheets, often because retail growth, an audit or a certification is coming. Its homepage names a mock recall that exposes gaps as a common reason to switch.

The Caddy Core plan includes inventory, recipes, lot traceability, unlimited custom forms, customer and supplier management, and unlimited users. Multi-facility setups are available.

Caddy also says plainly who it isn't designed for: farms, distributors, retailers and foodservice; beverage-first manufacturers; highly complex or distributed multi-facility teams; operations that depend on co-manufacturers; teams looking to replace an ERP or MRP; and teams that need accounting or ERP integrations such as QuickBooks Online.

If you have one kitchen, a growing team and budget for a sales-led setup, Caddy is a reasonable fit.

03

Where FourFoxes fits Built for the batch. Ready for the audit.

FourFoxes is for makers who know their product inside out and want the paperwork side handled. Your team logs batch records and checks on a phone, at the kettle, when they happen. If a check is missed or overdue, FourFoxes shows it without anyone running a report.

Supplier purchases go in once. Ingredient purchases attach to the batch records they went into, lot codes and all, so "which batches used that garlic?" has an answer. When an inspector or a buyer asks for records, the export comes straight from what was logged. Nothing gets retyped.

Every plan includes batch records with lot-level traceability, CCP logging with corrective actions, PDF and CSV exports, ingredient and supplier tracking, and cost per batch.

Questions makers ask

Is FourFoxes cheaper than Caddy?

On published prices, yes. Caddy starts at $499 a month billed annually, plus a required implementation package. FourFoxes has a free plan, and paid plans start at $39 a month.

Does Caddy log CCPs?

Caddy's pricing page and homepage don't mention CCP or HACCP logs as of November 1, 2026. If those checks are part of your process, ask Caddy how it handles them. FourFoxes logs them on every plan, with corrective actions.

Can I try either one before paying?

FourFoxes has a free plan with no time limit and a 14-day trial of the paid plans, no card needed. Caddy's site doesn't list a free plan or trial; you request a walkthrough.

I make a beverage. Which one fits?

Caddy's site lists beverage-first manufacturers among the businesses it isn't designed for. Beverage makers are among the producers FourFoxes is built for.

Do I need to talk to sales?

Not for FourFoxes Free, Maker or Producer. Scale is through sales. Caddy's site routes everyone to a walkthrough request.
